With help from relatives in Ulm, opened a department store (Kaufhaus) at Max-Eyth-Straße 12, Kirchheim

In 1926 a family named Stern took over the department store
After her children fled or were placed in the Wilhelmspflege orphanage, and after her husband's death (8 January 1934), Hulda lived alone in an attic room of the building that had been the family's department store

Deported 14 November 1941 together with her 17-year-old daughter Jeanne to Minsk
