- LBI AR 5248 — Chronicle of the family of Zacharias Oppenheimer of Michelfeld — Letter of 18 November 1929 from Dr. Eugen Oppenheimer (Frankfurt am Main, firm Jacob S. H. Stern) to Generaldirektor Dr. Richard Heilner, Stuttgart, giving the descent of the family: Loeb moved from Heidelberg to Hoffenheim, his son Hayum from Hoffenheim to Michelfeld, and Hayum's son Zacharias was born in Michelfeld about 1770. Records that Zacharias founded a cloth factory there and became a Gemeindebürger under Baden's sixth constitutional edict — an exception among Jews. Names the author's collaborators on the family tree: Jacob Oppenheimer of Bruchsal and Dr. Eduard Oppenheimer of Strassburg. Digitised by the Leo Baeck Institute.
