BIRTH YEAR CONFLICT: the engraved Stammbaum gives 1743, Alemannia Judaica gives 1746. The 1743 reading has been kept because it is what the chart shows, but it is a vision model's reading of an engraving and the printed source may well be right. Unresolved.

The Michelfeld page documents the community, the Oppenheimer Wollentuchfabrik, and the families of the village, drawing on the Michelfeld Heimatbuch and Baden community records. It gives the community's peak as 242 people in 1839, about a fifth of the village, falling to 22 by 1910, and records that Michelfeld's Jews were buried at Waibstadt from 1751 (at Oberöwisheim before that) until the community opened its own cemetery in 1868. It is the first source on this branch independent of both Geni and the Leo Baeck Institute.
